Comments: This is such a nice website. I grew up on thirtysomething. While I was probably much younger than most die-hard viewers, I embraced it as one of the few things on television teaching about day-to-day life situations & how to keep your heart intact in the '80s. I'm so glad that you have a layout of the Steadman home; I'm always looking for a house like their's with the huge porch in the front, the sit-in windows, the breakfast nook & the open staircase. (Okay, maybe minus the leaky roof & the radon...) Thanks again!

Comments: What a nice site! Congratulations and thank you for doing all this work. I enjoy your droll humor. I hope your studies are going well. I have a suggestion for a "game" for us: a bulletin board at this site where everyone gets to post their own views as to what we would find at a mythical "thirtysomething: 10 years later" show. Surely, an inventive and ardent group such as this web site's readers will come up with some great ideas! I am certain yours would be very interesting, Lisa. My own are that Hope and Michael are heavily disillusioned with the other's lack of support--the kids are really all that keep them together now. Elliot is widowed and having trouble with two traumatized kids. He's a free-lancer with anxieties about the on and off employment. Melissa is moderately successful with her work but doesn't really fit in with show biz types. She mothers Ethan and Britty but she and Elliot know better than to get involved. Ellyn is divorced, works in state government, and has serial affairs. Susannah has not remarried, and Emma is a resentful kid who is not close to her mother. The thing is, I just can't imagine what would bring them all together again in Philadelphia (or anyplace else). . . .

Comments: I have been a huge fan of T.S. since episode #2. I faithfully watched until the end. I have been able to watch some reruns when we have had cable in the past. However, we purchased a home in a rural community four years ago and although the seclusion of living on a dirt road that is off a dirt road is wonderful, having cable will never be an option. I have a difficult time justifying the cost of a dish for one show. It is also my understanding that Lifetime has been fickle in the programming as of late. It would be nice if a network would pick up Thirtysomething as a latenight. If anyone has heard of this as a possibility, please let me know. GOODEN@oio.net

Excellent job on the Web site. Thanks. db

Comments: I am a huge T-S fan, and I am 11 episodes short of a full collec- tion (I watch it on Showcase in Canada, and they pulled it off the air shortly before LIfetime did.) If you have any ideas of where I could pick up these lost episodes, I would be grateful. I'm glad I found other people who are just as infatuated with the show as I am -- in the words of Ellyn (when Hope said she felt compelled to serve hot appetizers) "Find a support group. Don't suffer alone." Thanks! Allison Smith P.S. On New Year's Day, I had a T-S marathon, in which I watched 47 episodes in three days!

I discover 30something Sometime in June of 1998, and being a Bedford Falls fan - I've seen My so-called life and Relativity, I fell in love with this show. Unfortunately, here in Brazil, we only got the 3 first seasons, and I'm still waiting to watch the end of the Weston/Steadman Saga... Anyway, this is a great site and of course 30 is a great show!

Now, of course that I'm in my early 30s, I UNDERSTAND the episodes. Lifetime TV just HAS to bring it back. I mean come on powers-that-be: Unsolved Mysteries or thirtysomething? Golden Girls or thirtysomething? lame infomercials or thirtysomething? Seems like a no-brainer to me. So glad I found this site. I now know I'm not alone in my thirtysomething obsession!!!

Comments: Perhaps because my life consisted of much the same issues as this show when it aired in the 80s, I am particularly fond of its "breaking ground" format, and have enjoyed this latest revival of episodes (although I have missed the holiday shows!). Personally, I believe this show to be the best of the 80s television.

Comments: In the mid 80's I was in college and it looked like I was on a collision course to becoming a yuppie. Then I changed direction and didn't regret it. In February of 1996, I was 31 years old and wanted to check out thirtysomething on Lifetime. The show instantly fascinated me since I was looking at the kind of lifestyle I probably would be living if I had stayed on the course I had been on in the 1980's. The fact that the show was set in Philadelphia where I live was the icing on the cake. I stayed up till 2:30 in the morning to watch every single episode from that night on. Like many others have said, the utter realism of the way the stories and the characters are presented just pulls you in until you feel like they're your friends and you want to invite them over your house, especially me since I live in Philadelphia. My favorite episode is the Thanksgiving show from 1987 where they're all together acting crazy. I wished I was there with them. I don't watch much TV, yet thirtysomething will always occupy a special place in my heart as the kind of life I wanted to live at one time but decided against. It's the most well written, well acted, well produced, most real show I ever saw and probably ever will see on television. This is a fine website, and thank you very much for putting it all together.

Comments: I just started to watch Thirtysomething on lifetime. I never seen the show before. I had heard of it before since that was how they promoted Relativity (that good, but short-lived series that I miss so much!) was made by the producers of Thirtysomething and My So-Called Life. It was a hard show to get into at first, but then I fell in love with the characters, especially Ellyn. (she reminds me of Karen from Relativity!) I found this website by chance, looking for Relativity under Edward Zwick. It's a nice website! Very short and to the point episode guides! (just the way it should be!) Hope you keep it updated.

In just about any episode, you can tell that the actors and actresses really got into playing their respective characters. Comments: I think it's great to find out that "thirtysomething" still carries a wide audience, and that somebody has taken the time to gather various facts, and to consistently update the website. Even at the age of 22, I was hooked on Ken Olin's character when I was 14, and was so happy to see that Showcase was replaying all the old episodes. Though I've always been a big fan of dramatic series (most notably Northern Exposure and Party of Five), no show has even covered so much and make me feel so much for each character. I watch the episodes now and I find myself carring more and more for Ellyn's character, because to me it's the most confusing despite how organized and independent she comes accross. Each episode is like a film, or rather a look on life and all of it's many challenges. I don't think you will ever find a better cast, from Miles to Suzanna to Ethan. More than not I'm usually at a loss for words to see how much passion is given to each character, and how every script has sometimes even reflected on something in my life. I think it's great what you're doing at the "thirtysomething" scrapbook, and I hope to return to the sight many times. Sincerely, Robert Doiron

Comments: Thanks so much for having this site available. If you ever question if it makes people happy, know that it does. I just watched the last episode of Thirtysomething on Lifetime today and felt sad that it was over. This provides a way to stay connected. When I first started watching Thirtysomething I was in college, now I'm approaching "30" and I'm beginning to experience some of these very same issues. This show holds a special place in my heart because I decided after watching the show I wanted to marry someone like Michael Steadman. The voice really got to me. I first feel in love with the man who is now my husband based on the gentle voice and nature. When GAry died it really touched a place deep inside of my heart. It was really well done. Thank you. Overall, this has been my favorite show of all time. It's nice that it still lives on the internet, tv and in our hearts.

Comments: I LOVE thirtysomething and was so devastated when it went off the air. I am so thankful that Lifetime is showing it again and very grateful to all those who maintain such wonderful websites about this extraordinary show. I have never watched a show which parallels life exactly as it really happens. Every episode is brilliantly written and acted. This is the most talented ensemble of actors I have ever seen assembled. I keep hoping that ABC will do a reunion special or two hour movie to update us on the lives of these characters we grew to love so very much. There seemed to be a lack of real closure during the last episode, as though the series could have returned another year, so the writers did not want to tie up all the storylines. Now that I have children of my own this series has become such a comfort knowing that all young parents experience the same situations.

Comments: Being a stay at home father of a 4 yr. old girl and 3 yr. old boy, my only guilty pleasure is being able to tape the episodes off of Lifetime and watching them during my "quiet" time around 11:30pm after working a little from home at night. Although the character of Michael is interesting at times, I feel the award for best acting and emotional depth is Timothy Busfields'Elliot. Having to go through the emotions of his wife battling cancer along with his troubles at D.A.A. shows how much range this actor has. I'm just glad I was able to tape all the episodes this time around although I'll probably watch them again on t.v. I gotta get a life.

Comments: Perhaps I'm not officially invited, since I'm only 19 years old. . .I started watching this show with my parents when I was a young teenager, and now I watch the reruns on lifetime. Is there anything we can do to ensure that they continue running the reruns? I want to make sure they don't stop. I am so glad there are internet sites devoted to this show! All the shows having to do with people my age (and other shows on TV now) pretty much stink. Thirtysomething is the best and always will be. Thanks for supporting it!

Comments: Unfortunately for me, I only ever got to see the last six episodes of the show before they took it off the air over here. Even then, it was aired at some ungodly hour and so I was forced to stay up til 2am to watch it. Boy was I upset and disappointed when they axed it over here. I've been crossing my fingers that they'll bring it back one day. Anyway, to keep me happy in the meantime, I listen to the CD whilst I surf. I'm glad to have 'tripped' over this page whilst surfing. It's very well laid out and the presentation is neat. Keep up the good work. It's nice to have somewhere, where like-minded people can air their views. Thank you for the good work!

Comments: a web site dedicated to one of my all time favourite series!!! And so wonderfully laid out too. My congratulations, and my thanks. Absolutley loved this series when it was on all those years back, and still miss it terribly. A shame that Russell and Peter were never given more significant roles....but I suppose they were already pushing it for American television! I think it would make a wonderful reunion mini series like my other fave Knots Landing. Just an idea...

Comments: Please keep on the good work! It's really worth it! Could it be possible to add a list of all the songs that we can hear on the show. There are a lot of them but just a few appear on the Thirtysomething CD-Rom published in 1991, like The water is wide, sung by Carla Bonoff. Right now, I have in mind the song that we hear at the end of the episode where Nancy and Elliot decide to get back together, I think it is the first episode of the third year, a beautiful song probably sung by Stevie Nicks, but so far, I haven't trace that song. And I would like to. If anyone can help me, you're welcome. You can communicate in English of in French. Thank You. Merci!
