NBC's late-night sketch-comedy show "Saturday Night Live" did a clever parody of "thirtysomething" while it was still at the height of it's popularity. The skit (which took the form of a satirical TV advertisement for a "thirtysomething" breakfast cereal) succeeded in poking fun at the show's sometimes overly-melodramatic handling of yuppie angst by punctuating practically every bit of dialogue -- no matter how mundane -- with the mournful strains of an accoustic guitar for emotional emphasis. It featured former SNL cast members Jon Lovitz, Nora Dunn, Kevin Nealon, and Jan Hooks.
